CPOD discovers a Super Mario Kart Star

Draknus as he is known to everyone at connectability’s online magazine is thrilled to have reached the national finals for Super Mario Kart.

As told by Draknus

Mario Kart Tournament

“On Saturday 30th July I made my way to The Edge in Basildon, to take part in the NPUK Mario Kart Tournament.

I left at 7:30am, and had to catch 2 buses and arrived at 9:30am, where I met a few friends who were also competing on the day.

Overall there were 12 contestants competing, and I played a total of 4 games.

I won 3 games, and unfortunately lost 1 game!

It was a fun and exciting experience, and I found it relatively easy to begin with, but it became more challenging nearer to the end.

The first round, that I won, was a 4 played game.

The second round was a 1 on 1 game, that I unfortunately lost.

The third game was another 4 player game, that I won!

And the final game was against 4 other players, and I tied 1st place.

The results of my game play have allowed me to go through to the grand finals!!!
This will take place sometime in October, in London.
There will be contestants from all over the United Kingdom, from 18 previous different tournaments, and 2 people have gone through to the finals from each location.

I was awarded a Bob-omb plushie and a Mario Kart Graduate Final Invitation.

Now to go back and practice lots, ready for the final round… I’ll keep you all posted on my progress and the final tournament!”
