My concept for a new Pokemon would be the Plasma type. You have the option to add it to fire and electric types. You can also remove either type with this new tweak.
Both fire and electricity are forms of plasma. The plasma typing would be strong against water, flying, steel, bug, grass, rock, and ice types.
Bug zappers: (Water conducts electricity)
Flying: If a bird gets hit by lightning it will not be getting back up.
Steel: fire melts metal grass because grass and other plant-based materials burn easily.
Rock types: (fun fact) water doesn’t conduct electricity. It’s the minerals inside the water which make it able to conduct electricity.
Ice-type: Fire melts ice.
Plasma will be weak against the ground
because of the grounding an electrical current removes its energy.
The legendary that can promote the plasma typing could be based on the thunder beast. In Japanese mythology when you see the legendary Pokemon you see blue currents of electricity surrounding its body.
Before you encounter it the Pokemon releases a massive roar causing massive lightning storms.
Pokemon will have a new attack called “surging rush” It releases a massive surge of blue lightning through its body. The blue lightning emanates from its fangs. Once it attacks it bites down then the lightning will strike at your opponent.
Surge rush is a physical electric or plasma-type move that has a base power of 150 accuracies.
100 has a chance to paralyse the Pokemon hit by this move also the user would need to recharge the next turn also the Surge rush would deal fire-type damage simultaneously.
The Pokemon name would be Raisabre. He would have an ability called Giasurge. This ability allows the user to paralyse the electric type and allows you to hit ground Pokemon with electricity.
If you go through with this idea of the plasma type. Then this will be the main setup for the individual Pokemon.
This Pokemon could be both an electric and fire type since they are both forms of plasma.
The reason I came up with the names is with Raisaber it is a combination of Rai meaning lightning as well as sabre is a type of sword and Giasurge that is a combination of Gia which is another name for earth and surge which is a sudden increase in power.
