The Pokémon Trading Card Game is a 2-player game in which players use 60-card decks to battle. In the Pokémon TCG, players build decks around cards that feature Pokémon characters and then take turns using attacks to try to defeat their opponent. The game requires some strategy and planning to win.

Pokémon is short for “Pocket Monsters” the original Japanese name. The franchise has its roots in a gaming magazine in the early 1980s in Japan—Game Freak

Item cards, as the name suggests, depict items, typically from the Pokémon games such as the Good Rod and Moomoo Milk, which a player can use once to have some kind of effect on the game, and are then discarded. Players are allowed to play as many Item cards as they wish during their turn.

Supporter cards depict and feature people. Generally, the people are characters from the Pokémon games and Pokémon anime such as Gym Leaders and Trainer classes, though many are exclusive characters featured within the many themes created for the Pokémon Trading Card Game.
